Aging Victoriously Part 2: Thriving in the Post-Menopausal Chapter
Dear Victorious Woman,
In the last newsletter, we explored Part 1 of Aging Victoriously: “Menopause.” I hope you enjoyed my insights and suggestions. Now, it’s time to move on to Phase 2: Post-Menopause!
And by the way, if you haven’t reached that stage yet, please know I’m not rushing you there! My intention is simply to prepare you for this inevitable journey by sharing the lessons I’ve learned and offering tips you may enjoy.
Let’s recap: you’ve faced the waves of menopause—hot flashes, emotional tides, sleepless nights—and I have no doubt you’ve emerged stronger.
Now, as you enter the post-menopausal phase, it’s time not just to survive, but to thrive.
This new chapter is not the end of vitality—it’s a powerful beginning. You’ve earned the wisdom of experience. Now it’s time to reclaim your body, mind, and spirit.
Let me share some common post-menopause challenges I’ve encountered—and what I did to rise above them with confidence, clarity, and charisma (my favorite 3 C’s!).
1. Emotional Balance: From Mood Swings to Inner Peace
Hormonal fluctuations may have calmed, but emotional waves can still linger—anxiety, sadness, even a sense of loss. This is natural, but not permanent.
✨ Victory Tip: Practice emotional self-care daily. I personally rely on meditation, breathwork, yoga, and mindful Qigong exercises. These practices help me feel energized, emotionally centered, and connected to my joie de vivre.
Follow a healthy diet. As someone from Cannes—a beautiful city on the French Riviera—I embrace the Mediterranean lifestyle filled with vegetables, legumes, and fish. Do yourself a favor and be mindful of sugar intake. Choose lower-sugar options, which are now easier to find, especially at Whole Foods.
Watch your alcohol consumption. Enjoy wine or a martini occasionally—as I do! (My Polish heritage makes me partial to vodka.) But overindulgence affects your skin, accelerates aging, and leaves you feeling drained and depleted.
2. Embracing the Evolving Body
Slowly but surely, you’ll notice changes—skin elasticity, muscle tone, libido (especially without hormones or testosterone). It’s not easy, but it’s real.
✨ Victory Tip: Treat your body as your sacred ally, not your enemy. Wear what makes you feel expressive, radiant, and alive. You are not invisible—you are irreplaceable.
I've realized that age reveals itself in two key places: posture and arms. I recommend using Dyna-Bands—simple yet powerful tools for improving posture, strengthening arms, and helping you stand tall and proud.
3. Redefining Identity and Purpose
For many women, post-menopause is a time of reinvention. The children are grown, careers have shifted, relationships have evolved. You may ask: Who am I now?
✨ Victory Tip: Revisit the dreams you once put on hold. It’s your time—whether that means traveling, volunteering, or diving into something that lights you up. For me, that’s been ballroom dancing and creating stress management programs for the French market.
Your voice, your gifts, your talents are needed in this world. This is your moment to claim your place, your purpose, and your power.
4. Reigniting Joy and Sensuality
Please know: your sexuality—your ability to feel joy, pleasure, and intimacy—does not end with menopause. Especially if you’re supported by hormone therapy, as I am.
✨ Victory Tip: Give yourself permission to rediscover sensuality on your own terms. Communicate openly with your partner. Be playful. Be curious. Most importantly, prioritize what brings you joy—from a passionate kiss to a glowing sunset.
🌟 Conclusion
Remember: you are not past your prime—you are in your prime power.
This is your time to shine with deeper authenticity, stronger boundaries, and unapologetic self-love.
Surround yourself with positive, uplifting people who see and support your true self.
