Before I share my story, I want to be sure we are on the same page, so let’s define the word compassion; it means being sympathetic to the concerns and misfortunes of others.

 I am a Pisces and, according to astrology, my nature is to be at the service of others, and it could not be more true. As you may know my company is New Life Directions. I guide people to understand how to transform their stress into success, so they are not victimized by it. Some of you may know that I had a stressful childhood and I went on a successful mission to rescue myself. My real life experiences and studies have given me the tools to help others.

A few years back, Diana Davis, Founder of MoviesMakingADifference, asked me to write my second book that would guide the victims of human trafficking to make a Fresh Start by using my strategies and techniques. This is how my book “Victim to Victorious”, available on Amazon, came into existence. It is dedicated, not only to the survivors, but to any of us who have faced difficult challenges. Please note that all the proceeds from sales are donated to the organization. 

The focus of MoviesMakingADifference is to produce full length movies with real actors, not documentaries, based on true facts, to raise awareness about human trafficking that is taking place right now in the US and Mexico. The movies help to raise money for the survivors as do monthly donations of $26. The victims need this assistance to not only escape the traffickers, but to find a place to live and work, and handle their health needs, which may include drug addiction. For example, right now, MMAD has to raise money for 2 young female survivors who, due to being denied dental care in their community, have lost their teeth and need dental reconstruction which, as you know, is very expensive. The assistance and compassion from MMAD never ends.

I am telling you all this because I know when you understand what is going on around you, you might care to help. If you live in the Palm Beach area, we have this extraordinary event at the very exclusive and private restaurant called the Sailfish Club. It’s called the Mardi Gras event because it is in February when Carnaval in Rio and New Orleans take place.
